Saturday went fantastically. We went in with a strong show and worries that cold weather would keep people at home, watching Cinemax and crying to themselves as they ate a cornbeef sandwich (or whatever you do when softcore porn is on). What we ended up with was a sold out theater and then some. The management of CAST nice enough to allow us to put some additional chairs in the theater. I don’t have the exact count, but it was north of 70 folks there to enjoy our hour and fourty five minute holiday special. We introduced 13 new sketches, many of which – I am sure – will stick in people’s minds for some time to come. We brought back two classic sketches, which were greeted with open arms by the Robot Johnson Regulars, which are people who come to the show regularly. Also, it’s a phrase I just made up. Just now. Science.

To everyone, thank you for making this such an awesome holiday event for everyone. You truly made our holiday and we hope that we helped make yours.

Happy Holidays and we’ll have our next show in February at the North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival in Carrboro, NC. Apparently the festival books acts based around unique group names. It starts sounding a little bit like an indie music magazine circa 1992.

I can’t attest to the comedic prowess of these other groups having not personally witnessed them myself, but, like us, they clearly have names made for t-shirt and action figure sales and eventual cartoon success. Speaking of cartoons, my favorite news aggregator site – Fark.com – had the headline “What has 9 arms, sucks and makes cartoons??”; the answer being Def Leppard, who is apparently putting together a cartoon series. Yeah, so there’s that.

I can’t even top that for laughs.
